The Location:

Trust us — this is one of the wildest, most unforgettable fishing trips out there. Remote rivers full of golden dorado, pacú, and yatorana, jaw-dropping scenery, exotic wildlife, and fascinating local cultures combine to make for an angling adventure unlike any other.

If you love destination fly-fishing with plenty of variety and big fish, this is right up your alley.

Pluma Lodge sits up on a cliff above the Pluma River, just above where it meets the Secure River. From the lodge you can fish multiple beats — the Pluma (including the upper Pluma), the renowned Itirizama, and the Secure River both above and below the confluence.

The lodge, an engineering feat in itself, features single-occupancy rooms and private bathrooms — simple, comfortable, and dialed in so you can focus on the fishing.

The Lodge & Accomodations

Tsimane Pluma Lodge offers a harmonious blend of modern comfort and Amazonian wilderness, providing spacious cabins and bungalows that serve as a luxurious sanctuary in the heart of Bolivia's remote angler's paradise.

Each accommodation is thoughtfully designed to seamlessly merge with the surrounding natural beauty, featuring comfortable beds, private bathrooms, and ample space to unwind after a thrilling day of angling. The lodge's inviting common areas and dining spaces offer the perfect settings to share fishing stories and savor delicious meals made from local ingredients.

Tsimane Pluma Lodge is not just a place to rest; it's an integral part of the immersive experience, allowing you to reconnect with the pristine wonders of the Bolivian jungle and make your golden dorado adventure truly unforgettable.

The Fishery

The pristine waters of the Pluma River and its tributaries are home to an abundance of not only golden dorado but also other coveted species like pacu and yatorana. With crystal-clear waters, diverse aquatic ecosystems, and a catch-and-release policy that ensures the sustainability of these remarkable fish, Tsimane Pluma Lodge provides an unparalleled angling experience where every cast presents the opportunity for thrilling encounters with these powerful, gold-flecked denizens of the jungle. Whether you're a seasoned angler seeking a trophy catch or a novice looking to hone your skills, this unique fishery promises an unforgettable adventure on the waters of the Bolivian Amazon.

The Pluma River is a moderately sized, clear freestone river featuring stunning, pristine topography. More open than many surrounding rivers, it is easier to wade through thanks to its wide banks, primarily made up of smooth gravel and rocks.

All fishing on the Pluma is done either on foot while wading or poling in dugout canoes designed by the native Tsmaine people.

Each beat of the river offers a completely unique fishing experience from intimate, pocket water fishing on the upper Itirizama, to the slower moving water of the Secure, every day at the Pluma lodge is an advnture.
