2026 Trip Details

Bahia De Los Suenos: Baja California Sur, MX

(Based on Single Occupancy)

  • 6 Nights / 5 Days - $4850

The Location:

Baja Mexico’s East Cape is one of the most productive blue water fly fishing locations in the world. After the storms have past May, June, and July offer some of the best fishing conditions. The east coast of Baja is a stretch of bays and beaches that remain very secluded but with different communities nearby there is plenty to offer while still maintaining a natural setting.

The Lodge & Accomodations

Guests are housed in custom built villas in an ideal setting on the Bay of Dreams (Bahia de los Suenos). Rooms are all master suites with their own private bathroom. Your home includes a Jacuzzi, pool, and access to private white sand beach with adjacent reef snorkeling and fishing. All meals are included in the fishing package with a chef on site. There are also options available in La Paz for dining and shopping. Cell phone signal is available at the other end of the beach or in town and Wi-Fi is available at the lodge. There is also a laundry service available.

Upon arrival the lodge provides some welcome drinks and for the duration of the trip you will be served delicious meals and have access to other options in town. A full bar and restaurant are also open on site from 6:30pm-11pm

For breakfast and lunch there are 2-3 options available every morning with boxes on board the boat for lunch. Non-fishing guests can order off the menu at their leisure. Night time dining consists of a 3-4 course meal in 2-3 different options. In town you can stock up on goodies and there is a fridge available at the lodge. The Bahia de los Suenos always has something to look forward to when it comes to food and is one of the best ways to enjoy the local culture.

The Fishery

The best fishing action comes in May, June, and July. Fair-weather settles into the area and an abundance of bait attracts migrating species like roosterfish, jacks, dorado, billfish, tuna, and wahoo. During your trip you can anticipate a myriad of different species. Dorado and roosterfish tend to be the predominant species and they aggressively take a well-placed fly. As the hotter weather tends to set in more and more dorado (mahi-mahi) tend to appear in greater numbers. Floating structures like buoys and some sardines can get the party started where acrobatic displays make for some great fly fishing. Fisherman are transported by Jeep or panga to local beaches up and down the coast by experienced local guides.

The Tackle

From a boat or from the beach anglers need to be prepared with the proper gear. Fishing can be done right out front of the lodge or at various beaches around Baja. Below you will find a list of suggested gear for this trip:

  • Rods: 8-12WT fast action rods
  • Reels: Saltwater capable reels with stout drag and corrosion resistant finish
  • Fly Lines: Int.sink, int sink tip, full sink would be most used. Floating used for poppers (clear tarpon style lines and tropical lines are best, please call or email with questions about gear before your trip)
  • Leaders: 8-20lb fluorocarbon, bite guard 40lb
  • Flies: Sardine patterns, Deceivers, Clousers, EP flies, poppers, gummy minnows, shrimp patterns

*All guests will receive a detailed list of recommended supplies, gear, and tackle for their trip
