Jennings Net Net Number 17
Only a few inches shy of three feet including a hoop that is over one foot wide, the #17 is perfect for landing large trout on big water. Although not impossible, the #17 is quite long to be considered a wading angler’s tool. Nevertheless, it might be quite effective for landing large steelhead and monster trout when wading as the extra length will become more of a benefit than hindrance.
Fishing guides who wade streams with their clients will appreciate the reach and wide-mouthed hoop of the #17, too, as will anglers fishing from a canoe or kayak. Choosing a net that has extra reach but still nice to carry is always a challenge. Most guides and competition anglers choose to carry the longest handled, largest hooped net they can get away with
